Usually what a person does is also the result of what he things about and dwells on. However, many people think random thoughts, which leads to lives that are lived at random as well. We must learn to channel our thoughts towards the good we want to see in our lives. One cannot plant a thought of lack and expect to reap results of abundance. Even though we may be in the midst of lack, if we focus our thoughts on abundance, the abundance we think about will soon become manifest. As a person thinks, so is he. However, we expect things to be hard, and so they become. Deepak Chopra mentions the Law of Least Effort and how the grass does not try to grow but just grows. I think we have a lot to learn there! We should not try so hard, we should just have great expectations to the point of absolute knowing, and then whatever we seek will just come to us. Remove the worry, dont work out how or when just know that all is well and it will be. If only we did not expect things to be difficult, manifestation would be so easy. I agree with you that many people are misunderstanding the Law of Attraction. Partly it's because we are a society that loves a "magic wand" and "happy endings" as portrayed in fairy tales. The Law of Attraction (and all other universal laws) are not fully understood from the mind's point of view. The mind tends to think that manifesting is very black and white and all about the form. I tend to focus more on the quality or essence of what I want to manifest rather than the form. If I have the essence or quality of love in my life, for example, I don't really care if the form is a puppy or a gorgeous looking guy. I agree 100% about all the distractions & lack of focus these days, though. I know my own results increased the more I was able to hone in and focus.
