Day One: Balancing the Senses

This lesson will provide you with a balancing meditation for the senses. It can be used at anytime you feel sensory overwhelm, or if you feel uncomfortable at any time in the next 20 days of the course. Use it on a daily basis as needed, or just before going to sleep for a restful night.

Welcome. Over the next 21 days you’ll be experiencing life in a new way. Experiencing through the senses is what make Earth a desirable place to incarnate. They are the tools for you to explore both your magnificent inner world, your beautiful external world and worlds beyond this world. The purpose of life is to experience it not think it or emote it. In the experience of life, the soul learns many lessons, completes many tasks and toward the end of the cycle of incarnation brings in its highest gift of service.
You can think of the sensory organs as portals for information to flow in. The mouth, nose, eyes, and ears are obvious portals but each joint is also a portal and contains the proprioceptor nerves for determining movement in time and space.
When these portals get too constricted or are too open, sensory input can be insufficient or too much. Additionally, your own inner landscape may reflect greater sensitivity on some days and less on others. Tending to your senses and balancing them will create a foundation for being able to live in higher sense perception.
Note by gia: To further enhance the meditation, soak cotton pads in cool water that contains several drops of lavender essential oil. Squeeze out excess water and place over your eyes.
