As regards the hitting...often time autistic children pick up what I call a negative energy entity or a dispossessed spirit (such as your grandson's father who is trying to help). For some reason this creates a violent reaction as the autistic child tries to get rid of the spirit attachment. An indicator of a spirit attachment can show up in the eyes of the child as well, which look slightly slanted or Oriental.
